Harvest Garden and Kitchen

The Harvest Garden and Kitchen grow fresh fruit and vegetables for our local community and create affordable healthy meals.

Food doesn’t get much fresher than this – it’s grown right here in our own garden.

The Harvest Garden was established in 2016. It’s our way of ensuring that families who are experiencing financial hardship have access to affordable fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Harvest Kitchen began operating at the beginning of 2018. Fresh produce from the garden is combined with low cost or rescued food from the food pantry to create healthy low cost meals.

How we started

The Harvest Garden was established in partnership with SPARK Ginninderry as a Cert II in Construction in 2017. This was followed by the completion of a commercial-style kitchen in 2018.

Our staff and team of volunteers grow a range of fresh vegetables and fruit for use in the food pantry and kitchen throughout the year. We also hold a Shop or Swap stall during the harvest season to encourage community participation in the swapping of fresh produce, and offer organic fruit and vegetables at an affordable price.
